Career Highlights

*      Took leadership role in blending the Main Street Program and Chamber of Commerce to better utilize human and financial resources to the betterment of organization and community.

*      Took leadership role in the establishment of the Crossroads Redevelopment District. Researched and recommended implementation of Tax Increment Financing which will generate over $115 million, income not otherwise available to the City, to be utilized for district infrastructure.

*      Took the Chamber of Commerce from a red ink deficit in 1999 and built an organization with over half a million in assets in 2007.

*      Established the Apache Junction Community Development Corporation a 501 c 3 Non profit. Incorporated, established governing structure and received 501 c 3 designation.

*      Established the North Eastern Pinal Economic Partnership a 501 c 6 business non-profit. Incorporated, established governing structure and received 501 c 6 designation.

Professional Experience:

 

Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce/Main Street Program

President/CEO– 1999–current

In charge of all operations and functions for the Chamber, i.e. marketing & tourism development, business retention and expansion, economic development, and operation of visitor’s center.  Under the direction of a fifteen person Board of Directors, Responsible for three full time staff, contract labor and thirty volunteers.  Responsible for all program administration, member and government relations, finance/budgeting, public relations, work plan and budget preparation and oversight.

 

Apache Junction Main Street Program

President/CEO – 1995-2006

  Executive Director of Private non-profit organization under the jurisdiction of a nine person Board of Directors.  Charged with the development and implementation of Main Street program, including administration and organization, image building and promotional events and activities.  Involvement with business community in building educational programs, advocacy for downtown, public awareness. Assisted in economic development efforts for downtown in concert with the City of Apache Junction office of Economic Development

Globe Downtown Association – Main Street Revitalization Program

Executive Director – 1987 – 1995

Charged with the execution of the Main Street Revitalization Program for the City of Globe.  Responsible for all administrative and organizational functions, development and implementation of promotional events. Worked with the City to develop business and historic preservation programs, researched grant opportunities to fund projects.  Served as advisor and liaison to City of Globe, Historic Preservation Commission. Worked directly with clients in the areas of business recruitment, expansion, historic building rehabilitation and design.  Under the administration of a fifteen person Board of Directors.
